One of the main annual high seasons for tourism is beginning in Cuba as visitors from Europe, Canada and the United States escape the cold late fall and winter months in their countries. While we weren’t able to capture all of them, HT gives our readers a look at most of the hotels located in the capital city. Enjoy!

The 24th edition of the international marathon Marabana 2010 took place this past Sunday in Havana with the participation of 2,500 runners from 74 countries. The competition consisted of the full marathon (42 kilometers and 195 meters), the half marathon (21 kilometers and 97.50 meters), in addition to shorter courses of 15 and 10 kilometers. (28 photos)

This year’s Autumn Edition of the Havana International Dog Expo just took place with judges from Mexico, Colombia, Panama and Cuba. This show was not as well attended as in previous years, which was disappointing to canine lovers who anxiously await this event all year. However, the excellent organization and concern for quality were apparent to those present. (27 photos)

By pure chance I stumbled on Caracas’s “Parque del Este”, which now takes its name from Francisco de Miranda, the Venezuelan revolutionary of 200 years ago. I knew of its existence, but didn’t imagine how alluring it would turn out to be for me, fed up with the hustle and bustle of the city.
