The Cuban government announced today that it will facilitate the acquisition of citizenship for children born to Cubans abroad and will eliminate some of the obstacles imposed on emigrants for trips to the island.

At 6 p.m. Saturday Tropical Storm Philippe was over the western provinces of Artemisa to Matanzas including Havana. Somewhat disorganized, the most dangerous aspect of the system can be the rains, reported the Cuban Forecast Center (Insmet).

The center of a Tropical Depression with 55 km/h winds is swiftly approaching western Cuba. It is expected to pass over very near the Isle of Youth in the early afternoon and move through the mainland in the late afternoon and evening.

A tropical depression, mostly likely soon to be tropical storm, formed today north of Honduras and its initial projected track has it crossing western Cuba sometime on Saturday where a Tropical Storm warning was issued by the National Hurricane Center.

Cuba has received 3.8 million tourists so far this year and expects to reach a record 4.7 million visitors by the end of 2017 despite the damages caused by Hurricane Irma, and US president Trump’s warning to his country’s citizens not visit the island.

For this coming week there will be cooler days, with isolated cloudiness and showers and occasional rainfall in the capital. The maximum temperatures will decrease slightly, ranging between 24 and 28° C (75 and 82 F), while the minimum temperatures will be between 20 and 21° C (68 and 70 F).
